About me

When someone you love dies, the grief can be overwhelming. It affects us emotionally and physically and can affect our mental health, so that every day can feel like a struggle.
Friends and family want to help but they are often struggling with their own grief or don’t know what to do or say. Or you might be experiencing difficult feelings that you do not want to share with them due to fear of being judged or shut down.

I specialise in working with bereavement, either recent or historic, including sudden death, death by suicide, the loss of a baby and pet bereavement.

I can provide a safe, confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and memories around your loved one so that you can come to terms with your bereavement and move forward.

I can also help you explore loss associated with big life changes such as parenthood, separation/divorce and career changes, and other difficult issues such as anxiety, stress or depression brought on by relationship problems or work issues.

We can also explore why you might feel dissatisfied or unfulfilled with your life and how counselling can help you reach a better understanding of yourself, your emotions and patterns of behaviour which will hopefully help you to make better choices and decisions going forward.

I appreciate that it can be hard to reach out and ask for support. Grief, loss and change are different for everyone and each person needs to find their own way through. It's really important that you find someone who makes you feel safe, understood and able to share. I hope that I can be the person to help you.

I offer an introductory session at the reduced rate of £25 for 50 minutes where we can briefly explore what is going on for you, discuss what you would like to achieve from counselling and I can explain how I work and answer any questions that you might have.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
