About me
I originally trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the 1980's and then worked as an actor for many years.
However, over the last 22+ years my life started to take a different turn when I began to attend experiential self-development and leadership workshops/retreats with such organisations as The ManKind Project and Shadow Work. Those experiences have then evolved over time into me delivering such workshops/retreats to groups of all kinds and alongside of which I now enjoy working mainly with individual clients in a therapeutic setting.
As an Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor I draw together many different approaches whilst offering therapy with soul - looking beyond the immediate problem, or symptom to work in ways that honour each client's deeper journey.
Therapy will mean different things to different people based on their life-experience and what they begin to discover from the relationship that forms (over time) with their therapist and also the new relationship that forms with themselves.
Undoubtedly there will be differences between us and I aim to be inclusively open and curious to considering the many intersectional aspects of identity which impact our experiences of life and each other - including but not limited to gender, race, class, and body.
For me therapy has meant a chance to revisit old stories and beliefs whilst gaining fresh insights and understandings which have enabled me to slowly change my relationship to myself - this in turn has gradually changed the world around me and all of my relationships within it.
I will be led by you and what you bring to our sessions with a commitment to my own self-examination through supervision as a means of understanding what might also be happening between us that is not immediately apparent.
I have a particular interest in working with shame, grief and family trauma.
Alongside seeing clients in my private practice I also worked for 9 months with people affected by cancer at The Mulberry Centre, West Middlesex Hospital.
How long does therapy take?
Some people find that one session clarifies their concerns and provides enough relief to allow them to move on - a follow-up can help to solidify it.
Often people will use between 6 and 12 sessions to work on a problem or set of issues until they feel able to handle it themselves.
Commonly clients come for a year or more to gain deeper perspectives on themselves and their lives and effect more profound change
One of the questions at an initial meeting will be about what you want to get from your sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling with Re-Vision and am a Registered Member of the BACP. Alongside seeing clients in my private practice I also worked for 9 months with people affected by cancer at The Mulberry Centre, West Middlesex Hospital.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I work in person in Ealing (near Northfields Tube) on Wednesdays & Thursdays and also near London Bridge on Mondays, I also have some online availability at other times.
We can meet initially online for up to 20 minutes to talk a little about why you're seeking therapy, what you might hope for and to give you a sense of how it might be to work with me. There would be no charge for this session and no obligation to continue.
If we decide to go ahead, then typically it would be for one hour weekly sessions on the same day and at the same time each week.
