About me
Hey there, I'm Tom Walker, and I'm not just a counsellor; I'm your companion on the journey to better mental well-being. 🌈 As a friendly and adaptable counsellor, I understand the importance of creating a safe and supportive space for you.
The sessions will be adapted to you, allowing you to take as much or little time as you need during sessions. 🌟 Our sessions are relaxed and informal, with us working around the presenting issues delicately and collaboratively. My hope for counselling is for you to experience meaningful change in areas of your life that are causing you distress and suffering. I work using a range of approaches. with your well-being at the heart of each session.
🐾 Outside the counselling room, I share my life with a lively 18-month-old cocker spaniel. 🐶 My love for walking and cycling in the great outdoors reflects my belief in the therapeutic power of nature. Together, we can explore how nature and movement can contribute to your mental well-being.
🚴♂️ When I'm not counselling or enjoying nature, you'll often find me engrossed in the world of sports. Whether it's cheering for my favourite team & indulging in the excitement of a match, sports bring me joy and energy.
🌟 What sets me apart is not just my professional expertise, but my personal journey through anxiety. I've navigated the challenges of anxiety myself and experienced firsthand the transformative impact therapy can have on an individual's life. This lived experience enables me to approach our sessions with empathy, understanding, and a genuine commitment to supporting you on your path to healing.
Let's embark on this journey together, where compassion meets expertise, and every step forward is a step toward a brighter tomorrow. 🌻✨

👩🎓 Beyond my counselling specialisation, I hold a degree in Business Studies, adding a unique perspective to my practice. This blend of business acumen and therapeutic expertise allows me to approach counselling with a well-rounded and adaptable mindset.
🌟 My experience spans across all age groups, professions and backgrounds, with a particular focus on providing support and guidance to vulnerable individuals navigating challenging periods in their lives. Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
