About me

Life can sometimes feel difficult and overwhelming. You may feel confused, lost and lonely. It is not unusual to lose a sense of who you are or what you want.

I believe that sharing pain and suffering can be healing. My aim is to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where we can work together to explore what has brought you to counselling.

I am a qualified, person-centred counsellor, based in Maidstone, Kent and I am experienced in working with a wide range of emotional difficulties. My approach means that you will be valued as an individual and that you can expect to feel heard and supported as you explore difficult thoughts and feelings, at a pace that works for you. I will provide a space for you to gain a deeper understanding of what is going on for you and support you in finding a way forward.

Having counselling is an investment in you.  I believe that finding the right counsellor is key to the success of the process. Prior to commencing therapy, I can offer you a free, no obligation, confidential telephone consultation to discuss suitability and any questions you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I practice according to its ethical framework.

I have experience of working with a range of emotional issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, trauma, disordered eating, low self-esteem, life transition and relationship difficulties.

I undertake regular continuing professional development workshops and courses to maintain my skills and knowledge.

I also attend clinical supervision to support and enhance my work with clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
