About me
As a Body Psychotherapist with twenty years of experience in well-being and the Somatic Psychotherapy field, I specialise in trauma and attachment. I work with the connection between mind and body. In 2021, I slowly started opening my private practice working with people face to face and online.
I believe in doing the work and I myself invest in weekly therapy. I understand first-hand what a big commitment and financial investment therapy can be. It is therefore very important that everyone can connect with the right therapist for them. It is ok to ask questions. Ideally, it needs to feel like a ‘good enough’ fit, as the therapeutic relationship is a relationship after all.
I believe there isn’t a final ending in therapy, there is a point to get to, but I understand that self-reflection, healing, building self-awareness is key to knowing what you need and want in life. This takes time and the learning journey is a continuous thread that unravels and deepens, as we become our own experts in healing and understanding our individual purpose.
I continue to deepen my understanding of the human experience and bring my own lived experience to my knowledge that I have explored. I continue to be curious and question my own self, my decisions and feelings and the impact our experiences can have on our relationship with ourselves and others.
I am motivated and inspired by the resilience and grit that we all posses and how important it is to question and be curious about ourselves. We are on a continuous path that doesn’t stop and I see the huge value in accessing more awareness through the therapeutic journey.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an experienced Psychotherapist, I trained to a master’s degree level in Movement Psychotherapy, graduating from Canterbury Christ Church University. I use a range of modalities, such as somatic (body), person centred, creative and humanistic approaches.
In 2012, I began working with mothers with post-natal depression building a supportive network for mothers in the south west. I continued my practice within this field specialising in trauma and attachment. I expanded my work with children in specialised referral units within mainstream primary education with trauma and attachment issues. I now work with adult clients from my home practice and online.
I have a four day private practice working at home face to face and online.
