About me

Life can be chaotic, and messy; but we don't have to navigate its challenges alone. I believe in meeting people where they are, as they are - whatever that may look like. Exploring and embracing the unique way we all work, and the challenge of finding what we need to thrive, is at the heart of my approach. I work with a range of human beings experiencing a wide array of concerns. I work with ADHD and Autism, anxiety, self esteem, grief, identity, relationship and communication issues - but this is by no means an exhaustive list.

I'm a BACP registered, Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist - meaning I can draw on a wide range of evidence based approaches to tailor sessions to the needs of each individual. The foundations of my approach are person-centred.

I work one to one, long and short term with adults aged 16+. Face to face, indoors or outdoors in Talgarth mid Wales, and remotely via phone or video.

I am Neurodivergent affirming, and an LGBTQIA+ ally.

Neurodiversity

My interest in neurodiversity is in part driven by the discovery in adulthood that I am neurodivergent myself. Diversity in all its forms is a beautiful thing, but I’m deeply aware of the challenges that exist in navigating a world not built for neurodivergent people. Whether you are looking to further understand yourself, or someone close to you, I offer an opportunity to explore this in an accepting and affirming space, free from judgement.

What now?

To find out more about what I offer, you can explore my website linked above. You can also get in touch by phone, text or email. Please note I will not be able to answer phone calls when I am with clients, but always aim to respond to enquiries the same day when possible.

If you then wish to proceed with arranging an initial session, I will send you a list of available appointments along with further details of my booking process.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications: I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of South Wales, and a BSc in Psychology from the Open University.

Experience: I have worked with Flying Start in Newport, providing counselling to parents of young children. I have also worked with Monmouthshire Mind, counselling a broad range of individuals both short and long term. I am currently a counsellor at Mid and North Powys Mind.

I engage in ongoing training and development. I'm currently completing my Masters, exploring Neurodivergence in counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
