About me

Making the decision to approach therapy is a positive step. Whilst talking with friends and family is invaluable, sometimes outside professional help can bring about greater understanding of our problems. To me, it is important that we develop a therapeutic relationship where we can talk openly about what is important to you. I will be clear and open regarding the process and will encourage feedback. Therapy is a two way process and it's important you feel comfortable and safe in order to get the most from the sessions.

I offer a warm, friendly and non-judgemental counselling service for adults and young people. Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, depression or relationship issues. Or perhaps you feel like you’re not coping with life as well as you’d like and you’re not sure why. You may be struggling with addiction issues, or troubled by memories from childhood. Whatever brings you to counselling, I am here to listen and support you in exploring the issues that may be blocking your path into a happier life.

You don’t have to feel alone, I offer caring and confidential support and will guide you through the counselling journey.

I am an integrative counsellor, which in layman’s terms means I draw upon techniques and theories from different models of therapy.

Please note, that I currently only offer one to one counselling (Couples counselling not available).

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation which will provide you with an opportunity to talk about your needs and expectations and discuss the best way forward. You can use this time to see if you feel comfortable in the therapy setting before moving forward to full sessions.

Sessions are available on weekdays and evenings. Please enquire through this website and I will get back to you as soon as possible to arrange a free consultation.

I am fully insured and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
