About me
Welcome, my name is Sanna and I am a National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society- registered integrative counsellor. I provide a warm, accepting, confidential and safe environment where you can explore any challenging and sensitive issues at your own pace.
I can support individuals that are dealing with major life changing events such as serious illness, redundancy, divorce or grief, as well as those who are having relationships difficulties. I have worked with range of challenges in life, including anxiety, trauma, emotional abuse, anger issues and depression. I consider each client and their world as unique, therefore I work to find a way that fits you. I have a particular interest in relational trauma and bereavement.
How I work
My primary approach is Person-Centred, however I may draw techniques from other approaches such psychodynamic, when appropriate. This may involve exploring your childhood experiences, relationships and family dynamics to gain better understanding of yourself, as well as linking patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviour that might have been be influenced by past events.
My aim is to create a safe space for my clients to explore all aspects of themselves without fear of rejection. I firmly believe working collaboratively with my clients helping them find their inner resources and resilience to get through difficult periods in life. Counselling is a process and often change challenges to let go what we know, confront painful memories or undesirable self-discoveries.
My focus is to help individuals find their own way of living life, even when their inner and outer world is in turmoil, empower to gain better understanding of themselves and make positive changes in life.
I work both face to face and online.
What to expect
Finding the right counsellor can be daunting experience; therefore it is important that you find the person that is suitable to your currents needs. The first session usually involves getting to know each other better and go through some important aspects such as confidentiality and terms and conditions of working together, such as times, days and number of sessions.
In general, I may ask questions about your past experiences, current and previous relationships, family background and therapy goals to help me have deeper understanding of the issues concerning you. Each sessions lasts 50-minutes.
