About me

Do you feel anxious...overwhelmed… exhausted… stuck… wanting to run… scared… angry… or numb?

My life journey has been with a fair number of detours. I am incredibly grateful for the support I had from counsellors when I struggled to keep going.

I would like to offer to you the same support. I provide a space, free of judgement, warm and compassionate, where you can make sense of your emotions and regain control of your life.

Alongside practicing as a counsellor I have worked now for over 3 years in a Lifestyle Coaching Project funded by the NHS, supporting clients who struggled to improve their physical and mental health. People often find themselves in a vicious cycle. They try to follow all the advice given to them, feeling that they should be able to feel better. When it doesn’t work, they feel like a failure.

My belief is that we all have the wisdom (gut feeling) within us to know what we need and what is good for us. But that can get lost, we might have been "talked out of it". Circumstances might mean that we can’t act on our intuition.

Part of therapy for me is to reconnect to your gut feeling. I would like to support you to find out what you need and what is best for you to enable you to make the changes happen.

For therapy to work it is essential for you to find someone you can feel safe with and connect to. Come and talk to me, find out whether I could be that person.

I offer 30 min free phone or video appointments or a 30 min face to face appointment for £20 to get to know me.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in HR, Training and Coaching as well as Intercultural Exchange Programmes, always with the passion of helping people to improve their relationship to themselves and others.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
