About me

Are you looking for someone to talk to? Perhaps someone to help share the weight of depression or anxiety and its uncertainties. Maybe you feel like you don't know yourself or what you want,  struggle with low self esteem, or your needs are being dictated by circumstances in your life. Perhaps relationships are where you want to focus and you need help being able to articulate where you stand. Maybe you just need someone outside of your usual support to listen to you and hear without judgement or input. Or you may feel you have no one you could talk to about your problems. Let me help.

Looking at life beyond the lockdowns it can be easy to feel lost, anxious or traumatised at what we've been through collectively as well as individually. It's normal to want to battle on through, but it's also okay to reach out for support to help you get through this. It's okay to admit we're not okay right now. I can offer a space for you to explore everything you have been left feeling by this tumultuous time in a safe and private environment.

If it sounds like this type of therapy would be helpful to you, please reach out. I have worked with many clients over the years dealing with a multitude of presenting issues, from all backgrounds. I understand that taking the first step can be the most difficult part but I believe that every one of us is capable of reaching towards improving our mental health and striving for happiness.

I can offer face to face sessions in Croydon, but I am also open to online video or telephone sessions for anyone who wants to fit counselling into their schedule around work, family and other priorities/responsibilities.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the Iron Mill College in Exeter, where I achieved my Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

I currently have over 3 years of experience in private practice, seeing clients face-to-face, via video call or telephone sessions. I have worked extensively with local councils to provide group sessions as well as individual short term and single session therapy to care home staff and social care workers following the Covid-19 pandemic. I also have experience of working with LGBTQ+ charity Intercom Trust in Exeter during this time.

I also have 4 years experience working for the NHS seeing clients in one-on-one short term humanistic counselling in Putney, with prior experience of long term low cost counselling for the charity Counselling for Social Change based in Cornwall.

I have worked with clients from all backgrounds from ages 18+ dealing with a broad range of issues, including but not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • LGBTQ+ Issues
  • Self-esteem Issues
  • Identity Issues
  • Panic Attacks
  • Stress
  • Relationship Issues
  • Addiction
  • Loneliness

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
