About me
My name is Ruby and I am an Integrative Counsellor who works with Adults and Children from age 11+. I have experience working with a range of problems, and I have a special interest in working with adults and young people who suffer from Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Low self-esteem and Boundary issues.
It takes a lot to ask for help, especially in a world that can still stigmatise mental health, leaving you feeling as though something is wrong with you.
Whilst it can be frightening, exhausting, upsetting and confusing to be suffering, it is a normal part of the human experience. Knowing when to seek professional help is a key part to getting better. Just like managing a cough alone for two weeks with no improvement, may result in a trip to the local GP, you may find yourself seeking intervention when worry, low mood, or looping thoughts impact you daily and have been there for weeks on end.
That’s what I and other mental health professionals are here to help with.
I have hope for all my clients that they can get better. I have witnessed first-hand people recovering from crippling anxiety and low self-esteem. I believe that natural growth happens when the therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and client is a safe, non-judgmental, and understanding space. This allows the client to feel safe enough to explore parts of themselves that they have previously found difficult or painful to address.
Therapy is a collaborative piece of work, utilising the therapists’ skills and theory alongside the client’s willingness to be open, honest and keep to the process even when it gets difficult.
I offer an Integrative approach to counselling, which means I look at the person as a whole, including their thoughts, feelings, behaviours and environment. I have a Person-Centred base, where I believe the client innately knows what is best for them and can achieve that in the right conditions. I also use other modalities, depending on what the client needs. This may include the use of CBT skills for anxiety and low mood, or the use of Transactional Analysis to work on problems within interpersonal relationships.
When working with me, expect a warm welcome, laughter (yes we will laugh in sessions) and a relaxing environment.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
