About me

It can be overwhelming to not be living a life that feels truly yours, resulting in anxiety, overwhelm, depression, and sadness. Maybe you are experiencing a constant cycle of thoughts or actions that can hurt you. You may be feeling empty, lost, alone and desperate  to act and feel differently in your life.

Being in such a painful place, I understand that it can be confusing, conflicting and may leave us feeling that we are just existing in our lives, rather than truly living to our potential.

Exploring how we truly think and feel about our experiences can provide us with great insight towards ourselves, our behaviours, and our responses to the unpredictable nature of life. It is a gift to take time to look at our relationship with ourselves, others, and things.

As a person-centred counsellor, I provide a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic space. Always working at your pace, I can support you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that you are comfortable with. My therapeutic approach is grounded with empathy, respect, and acceptance towards you.

I offer to accompany you on a very personal, and possibly difficult journey, with the knowledge, ability, and professionalism that enables me to hold a therapeutic space for you to explore safely, without the fear of judgement or rejection.

Therapy is for everyone, and its impact can be life-changing.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I am a fully qualified to Degree level (FdA), achieved with Middlesex University.
  • DBS checked
  • Alongside my private practice, I work for a charitable addiction treatment/recovery centre.

Prior to training as a therapist, I worked for over 25 years in the corporate world as a business owner/director. I have extensive personal experience of the challenges that existing in this environment can present.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
