About me
Are you at a point in your life where you know you want to make a change but don't know how to make it? Then you have come to the right place.
Life can throw many different challenges in our paths, that deeply affect our mood and wellbeing. Sometimes these things have a deeper longer story and at other times it can be caused by a single moment/event. They often open up difficult memories from other times in our lives. The burden of many different things can often leave us feeling lost not knowing which way to turn. Whatever you may be feeling, a warm, compassionate empathic space can often help us pause and make sense of what is going on and find a new way forward. Something we often find hard to do alone.
Training, qualifications & experience
I believe in the power of healing through connection, compassion and empathy. With over 10 years of experience working in mental health, I hold a DClinPsy from Cardiff University and practise as a Principal Clinical Psychologist.
I have successfully addressed a wide array of challenges, such as anxiety, low mood, depression, loss, grief, and trauma. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalised groups. I provide tailored support to address the unique needs and concerns of the person I see.
I have undertaken additional training in various therapy approaches. I specialise in utilising evidence-based methods to assist individuals with their challenges, approaching each situation with empathy. The therapeutic frameworks I employ encompass Compassion Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), as well as Systemic and Narrative Therapy. I am skilled in evaluating your experiences and determining the most effective therapeutic approach to address your specific needs.
I provide a nurturing, empathetic environment where the focus is on you and your objectives, utilising evidence-based and holistic methods without judgment to empower you to make the changes you want to make.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
