About me

I am a qualified Therapist, and I specialise in working with alcoholism and addiction, providing help and support with a variety of addiction issues. I offer a safe, confidential and professional environment for people to explore their difficulties and ultimately make positive changes in their lives.

We all face challenges in life, whether it be moving away from destructive behaviours, learning to manage complex emotions, working through family or relationship issues, or simply dealing with the varying and often conflicting demands everyday life can bring. I work with clients to help them identify their goals and move towards positive and sustainable solutions.

I draw upon a variety of therapeutic approaches which enable me to effectively meet the individual needs of the clients I work with. I am experienced at working with issues such as alcoholism and all forms of addiction. if you would like to contact me to discuss how we might work together to resolve any issues you may be facing, please do so in confidence, and we can arrange an initial meeting and assessment. From there we can discuss how best to proceed. Having your issues heard in a non-judgmental environment is often vital for initiating the process of change.

Training, qualifications & experience

Alongside my private practice I work at a leading private addictions treatment centre in Surrey. I also work at an addictions Agency in Richmond – ASCA -  which provides counselling and support services for alcoholics and addicts as well as carers and family members. I have long experience of working with individuals who are struggling with addiction and other issues, as well as with family members who also often need support.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
