About me

Hi my name is Reena and I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist. I help clients to understand the difficulties they are facing and explore possible treatment options. In my experience, people seek an explanation for their experiences of distress, collectively a formulation can be very powerful. I also provide individual, evidence based psychological therapy to adults, children and adolescents. I am an integrative psychologist, drawing on a broad range of approaches including Compassionate Focused Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Systemic Therapy. I am also offer EMDR therapy.

My key areas of expertise include Trauma and Complex Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Substance Use. My thesis specifically looked at discourses around Borderline Personality Disorder. I have significant experience working with people who have a diagnosis/working diagnosis of Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and/or other neurological conditions.

I also offer a therapeutic coaching package for individuals who have already had therapy and would like support with specific goals, please get in touch for more information.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist. I hold a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. I also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Psychology, a BSc Hons in Psychology and a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling.

I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council and hold Charter membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS), the professional body of Psychologists. I am also training in EMDR therapy.

I have presented at the BPS POWES Conference July 2023 on one of my findings related to my thesis, offering a critical perspective on the psychiatric discourse of “BPD”. I am in the process of writing some articles, full details will be released soon.
