About me

It's normal to need support with our mental health and wellbeing. Sometimes we need help to feel more at ease in a specific area of our lives, or perhaps to explore why we feel the way we do. Whatever your hopes are for therapy, I strive to create a safe and supportive space tailored for you. I am a Clinical Psychologist, which means I am trained to support people with different hopes, needs, and difficulties, by using a wide range of therapies. I work by first understanding more about you before agreeing on a therapeutic approach which will best suit your individual needs.

I have over ten years of practise working with adults, children, and young people experiencing a broad range of difficulties. These include post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, stress, low mood and depression, phobias, emotional and behavioural problems, relationship struggles, loss and bereavement, and adjusting to life changes including health diagnoses. My clinical experience means I have additional specialist skills in working with trauma (including birth trauma), birth phobia, loss, parenting, and antenatal and postnatal support for individuals and couples.

Whether you are hoping for therapy to work on a specific area, or to help you understand more about yourself and your experiences, please feel welcome to reach out for an initial conversation. If you would like to continue sessions after this, we will talk in more depth about what has brought you to therapy and agree on a plan that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have experience in working with lots of different difficulties with children, young people, and adults. I also have specialist skills in therapy for trauma, loss, and women's health. Areas I have worked in include child and adolescent mental health, adult mental health, women's health, and specialist child and adult trauma and loss services.

I am trained to use different types of evidence-based therapy. I draw on ideas and approaches from these therapies, using them together to help us form a deeper understanding about how you are feeling, learn different ways of coping, and process your experiences. Depending on what you would like support with, some of the therapeutic approaches I use are compassion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, and trauma-focused approaches, including eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, narrative exposure therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy.

No matter what your hopes are for sessions, you are welcome to reach out for an initial consultation. If you would like to continue meeting for sessions after this, we will go into more depth in our first session together to establish a personalised plan for you.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
