About me

I always told myself that I would only become a counsellor if it was something that came naturally to me. I started my journey after noticing that friends of mine who had life problems liked talking to me. This led me to enrolling on and completing a professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling practice. Throughout my diploma, I still maintained that I would only enter this wonderful profession if I could be my real self. Open minded, non-judgemental, empathic and genuine. And here I am. I was employed as a lead counsellor by an agency working in a secondary school straight after qualifying and I also have my own private practice in West Malling.

I am always happy to listen, so if you would like to, we can arrange a time to talk and to explore ways in which we can work together toward resolving whatever is on your mind.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling practice. This includes a diploma in counselling skills and theory. I also have a certificate in hypnotherapy and counselling skills.

I have two years of experience working with secondary school students, which includes continuous professional development (CPD) certificates for safeguarding and keeping children safe in education training. I also have training and a CPD certificate in social media and internet addiction.

I also complete at least 30 hours of continuous professional development per year in various subject matters of interest that improve my knowledge, my services and that ultimately benefit my clients experience.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
