About me

Welcome to my counselling profile.

My journey into counselling began in 2014, but my career path traces back to my formative years when I enlisted in the British Army in 1991. Over the years, I've traversed through diverse roles, each contributing uniquely to my growth and understanding. For the past decade, I've dedicated myself to supporting adults and young individuals within the criminal justice system, as well as in the challenging terrain of substance misuse.

My tenure in the substance misuse sector has endowed me with a robust toolkit and profound insights into navigating complex issues alongside my clients. Drawing from both professional experience and personal challenges, I've cultivated a deep empathy and understanding of the multifaceted struggles individuals encounter.

As an integrative counsellor, I embrace a flexible approach, weaving together various counselling modalities such as Person-Centred Therapy, Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. This adaptability allows me to tailor interventions to the unique needs and of each individual I work with.

My counselling style is characterised by warmth and empathy, fostering a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges openly. I believe in the power of genuine connection and collaborative exploration to facilitate growth and healing.

Currently, I offer counselling sessions during evenings and weekends.

Thank you for considering me as a partner on your journey towards personal growth and well-being. I look forward to the opportunity to support you.

Warm regards,

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
