About me

Are things happening in your life that are causing you to feel anxious, worried, or depressed. Are you experiencing illness, low self-esteem, or loneliness? You may not be sure what is exactly troubling you or making you feel the way you do, but together we can explore this.

As a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor experienced in supporting adults, children and young people on a one-to-one basis I can support you to address issues such as anxiety, depression, separation, stress, loneliness, low self-esteem, anger management and grief. Person-centred therapy is at the core of my practice. Person-centred holds the belief that all of us have the power to find the best solutions for ourselves and make appropriate changes in our lives. I don’t claim to be an expert on how you can deal with the problems you face, but I am here to help you find the solution which is best for you. There is no magic wand, and I don’t have a ‘fix-it’ kit but I am committed to working with you for as long as you need me. Above all, I won’t judge or criticise you and together we will work through the difficulties you are facing.

We can explore what is happening for you in the here and now and hold an awareness that our present can be influenced by our past. Although we can’t change the past, we can work through and understand the impact of your past experiences – this can make a difference and how you move forward in the future.

My approach enables me to use specific theoretical models to help you cope with difficult life experiences. As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I abide by their Code of Practice and work within their Ethical Framework, which means any information you share is treated confidentially.

I offer face-to-face, online and telephone appointments.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
