About me
I can support you if you're feeling anxious or suspect burnout and need help to rebalance your professional and private life. Especially if your anxiety is having an impact on your self-esteem and preventing you from connecting with others as you would like to. Relationship difficulties are also one of my main areas of expertise, whether it's dating difficulties, a divorce, a breakup, complex family issues or any other problem related to childhood trauma that you would like to address. I also help individuals who need psychological support to cope with a new HIV diagnosis or who have sexual health concerns that are troubling them.
My approach will help you feel more confident and empowered. I support you in developing self-awareness while exploring how to transform that self-awareness into action so you can improve self-care and enhance the way you handle challenges and relationships. You'll unlearn teachings that no longer serve you, and you'll be supported in the process of learning how to safely connect with emotions.
Please email me if you would like to make an appointment. I respond within 24 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed my professional doctorate in counselling psychology at City University London. Throughout my training, I have worked in a variety of NHS services, treating a wide range of emotional difficulties: obsessive-compulsive disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress, burnout, chronic illness distress or stress related to life transitions or relationship changes, for example.
I had the privilege of supporting front-line healthcare staff during the Covid-19 pandemic, to help them through these difficult times. I consider myself an integrative practitioner, which means that I value psychological flexibility and try to incorporate different elements that may be helpful to each client rather than promoting a "one-size-fits-all" approach. I integrate individual differences and cultural components into my work and find it important to try to empower my clients to be themselves and help them become who they want to be.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
