About me

As an experienced integrative therapist, I draw on a range of different approaches tailored to your needs. I work with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work, stress, identity, family history, trauma, self-esteem, negative thought patterns, feeling stuck, shame, unhelpful behaviours and self-beliefs, transition and loss.

How I draw on different methodologies:

Humanistic: Therapy is client led, focusing on your experiences and feelings and helping you to explore them in a safe and non-judgmental environment

Psychodynamic: We may look at unconscious patterns in behaviour and relationships, where they come from, and how they are impacting you now.

Transpersonal: I draw on techniques from mindfulness and meditation to help with anxiety, overwhelm and feelings of stuckness. We might also look at your creative self and how to help it thrive.

CBT: I use principles from CBT to identify unhelpful thought patterns (cognitive distortions), where these come from, and how we might challenge them.

Therapy can be a space to make sense of difficult and confusing feelings and to explore the challenges of finding one’s place in the world. I work collaboratively with you to focus on your needs, so that together we can draw out your innate resilience and self-compassion. My approach is open-ended and client-focused, giving us time to develop a strong therapeutic relationship in which it is safe to explore your feelings and help you make sense of things.

Whatever you are facing, please get in touch to discuss how we might work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

For two years I managed a local counselling service, where I dealt with a range of complex therapeutic issues. In my private practice I often work with young women and specialise in the following; low self-esteem, anxiety and negative thought patterns, perfectionism, dating and relationships, narcissistic abuse, emotional neglect, difficult family dynamics, family-estrangement, low mood, low motivation, feelings of being 'stuck' and finding meaning in one's life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
