About me

Whether you're just wanting one session, something more long term, or anything in-between, I offer open-ended therapy to suit your needs.

I am a queer trans man in my 30s from West Yorkshire. I use the person-centred approach in my practice, and I qualified in 2022. I believe there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to therapy, which is why the person-centred approach resonated with me so well, as it takes into account the individuality of each client.

My aim is to provide a comfortable space for someone to explore their sense of self, their feelings, and their lives, without the fear of judgement. Resulting in you gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, and your place within this world. With this in mind, I am drawn to the LGBTQIA+ community and have both lived experience, and client experience in this area. Other areas I work with are listed in the section below.

If you're unsure if I am the right therapist for you, you can book a one off session at a discounted rate with no pressure to continue sessions if I am not the right fit.

I currently work remotely with clients from all over the UK. I also now have a room available to me in Wakefield city centre, so face-to-face is also possible if you are able to get there. Please drop me an email to discuss further if this is your preference. (Accessibility - 1st floor room. Accessible by elevator or 1 flight of stairs. No step to access the building).

Unfortunately, I only work with adults at this time.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
