About me

Hello, I’m Oli, an integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I am a skilled and experienced counsellor offering therapy face to face, online or via the telephone. I enjoy meeting new people and working together to give you more insight into who you are as a person and the emotions that you are experiencing. It takes courage to seek out help and I will be by your side as we look together at what has brought you to this point in your life and what is important to you for the road ahead.

You are unique and sometimes need a non-judgmental and safe place to explore the emotions that you are feeling, and professional support to make healthy changes in your life. There might be pain that you are holding onto from an experience in your past or you are feeling stuck and don’t know why.

I provide an authentic and confidential space where you will be heard and listened to as an individual and offer empathy and compassion. As your therapist, I can sit side by side with you as we look at the challenges you are facing together, understand them, and help them to feel less heavy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have previously worked for the NHS within Oncology. I have worked as an IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) counsellor for the past few years, working with people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds of different genders and ages, to help make sense of current challenges.

Predominantly specialising in anxiety and depression and many other difficulties that we may have to deal with as humans such as: bereavement, loss, grief, discrimination, cultural issues, abuse, low confidence, self-esteem, identity, relationship problems, work struggles, loneliness, long term health conditions and family changes.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I am an Integrative Counsellor which means that I use a blend of the major approaches to counselling within my work. Sometimes it may be beneficial for us to explore your past, sometimes the here and now and what is happening in your life currently and sometimes we may explore our working relationship. This will be led by your goals and what has brought you to counselling at this time.
