About me

Hello, I'm Nicola. We come to therapy for all kinds of reasons and I provide a calm, safe and confidential space where you can talk about whatever is on your mind. We can work together to lighten your load and help you find your way to where you want to be.

You may just want to share your story and be heard, or perhaps you are looking for more support. Working at your pace, we can look at what's going on and explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns - reflecting on what may be influencing these and how they are impacting you. We can think about any changes you may wish to make and introduce strategies that can help you get there.

As an integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I'm trained to incorporate different therapeutic modalities to suit your preferences. My work has its foundations in a person-centred approach. I believe in building a trusting, non-judgemental partnership rooted in warmth and acceptance, to take us towards your goals.

I'm a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics.

I offer short and long term therapy in person and online. In person sessions are in south London: Brixton (SW9) and East Dulwich (SE22).

If you'd like to know more about working together and the way forward, we can have an initial chat over the phone. Please get in touch to arrange a free 15 minute call.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London.

In addition to private practice, I've worked in a south London counselling and psychotherapy centre and for a charity offering support to families affected by abuse.

I've worked with clients on a range of issues including: anxiety, depression, sadness, stress, overwhelm, self-esteem, control, identity, loss, grief, personal and family relationships, and work place issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
