About me

Picking a counsellor/therapist (the same thing btw) can be scary and a little overwhelming, so here is how I can help – I can help you get through what I can only assume is worrying and at times impossibly difficult feelings and situations. I am not shocked and I don’t judge and I am a great listener to help you find out what is going on and help you to feel better.

I find that when my clients are aware of why they behave then they get choices and choice is power to change the way you act, how you react and how you feel. It might feel hopeless or impossible at the moment but I can offer you hope that things can change.

Asking for Help
Asking for help is a big step so this is generally what happens when you book in or call me – I won’t ask too many questions on the phone or via the booking system; the first session is free and can be done face to face in my calming and easy to park office just outside of Evesham, online or via phone – I can even offer you walking and talking if that suits you better.

Once we have set up the initial session I will go through important parts of helping you including confidentiality and other bits that I want you to know and then we talk. I listen and I ask a few questions at first to find out what is going on with you. To try and get a picture of what you are going through.

We will build trust
Over quite a small amount of time, we will build a trust and that trust is about helping you to open up and talk about things that you might currently struggle with – it isn’t an interrogation, it is a calm and gentle exploration about your suffering and the effects on you.

This leads to more trust and more progress towards meeting your goals – my focus is always on your needs and what you are going through. I want you to be able to say the things you have never felt able to do so, I want you to feel comfortable and safe.

I won’t list the areas of mental health and wellbeing that I cover but I am experienced in helping people who have been controlled, abusive relationship and also helping those that are controlling. I can help you if you are unhappy with your life, no matter how hard you work or what you do or you have been told you are emotional distant.

Male counsellor
Sometimes it is easier to speak to a man about what you are going through and that is okay to admit it. We are taught from a very young age that emotion is weakness; that crying is for girls and society pushes and pulls us to change what it means to be male. Dissatisfaction and confusion as to what you are doing with your life is really common and can make life feel worthless. Finding your reason for living is a skill and very possible so give me a call.

I have had over 30 years of working in various industries at various levels and I have been helping to run different businesses successfully for over 20 years – so I can help you with work stresses, running a business stresses and everything in between.

Reach out for help, I am here.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

My room is based in a small and rural business park just outside of Evesham near Offenham, there is lots of free parking. The room is airy, light and comfortable with a nice big comfy sofa.

As you drive in there are three buildings and I am based in the third building on the right hand side. You don't need to drive around the roundabout - you can just go straight right and park in the two areas in front of you.

As you enter the foyer you will see toilets on your right and through the archway on your left and a set of stairs straight above you - straight up the stairs and we are the first door on your right. Please come on in.
