About me

Choosing a counsellor can feel daunting — especially when you’re already struggling to make sense of your feelings or situation. At The Mind Mechanics, I focus on helping you make real, lasting change. Together, we work to help you take back control, understand what’s been keeping you stuck, and start feeling better about yourself and your life.

Real Change, Not Just Coping
My approach isn’t about endlessly revisiting the past — it’s about helping you understand what’s happening inside you so you can make new choices. When you know why you react, think or feel the way you do, you gain power to change it. That’s when confidence returns, energy builds, and you begin to move forward again.

Experience You Can Rely On
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 30 years working across different industries, including more than two decades running successful businesses. I understand the pressures of leadership, responsibility and the toll it can take. Whether you’re a business owner, manager or professional feeling burnt out, disconnected or under pressure, counselling can help you regain clarity, balance and control.

Support for Those in Controlling Relationships
I also work extensively with both men and women who are — or have been — in controlling or emotionally abusive relationships. These experiences can leave you questioning your worth and unsure how to rebuild. Our work focuses on helping you recover confidence, trust yourself again, and move forward into a life where you feel safe and free to make your own choices.

For Men Who Feel Isolated
Many men I work with describe feeling trapped, emotionally cut off or unsure who to talk to. You’re not alone. Counselling gives you the space to open up without judgement — to finally talk about what’s been going on and start changing how you feel.

Getting Started
The first session is free and can be face-to-face, online, by phone, or even walk-and-talk — whatever feels right for you. I’ll listen, help you make sense of what’s happening, and together we’ll start working on change.

If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck and start feeling better, reach out today. Call 01386 571114 or email nick@themindmechanics.co.uk to book your free 30-minute consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

My room is based in a small and rural business park just outside of Evesham near Offenham, there is lots of free parking. The room is airy, light and comfortable with a nice big comfy sofa.

As you drive in there are three buildings and I am based in the third building on the right hand side. You don't need to drive around the roundabout - you can just go straight right and park in the two areas in front of you.

As you enter the foyer you will see toilets on your right and through the archway on your left and a set of stairs straight above you - straight up the stairs and we are the first door on your right. Please come on in.
