About me

Hello,
Welcome to my page, and thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. If there are any questions that you have, please feel free to contact me. I am happy to answer as I understand that finding the right counsellor is important and can be daunting.

About me
I am a qualified Gestalt counsellor, with training in CBT and Person-centred therapy. This means that I can adapt to your needs within a session. I am also a registered member of the BACP, ensuring that our sessions are held with ethics and safety at the forefront.

I started WholeSum Counselling as I believe that you are 'greater than the sum of your parts'. There are many important elements and experiences that make you unique and individual, and I believe that all of this should be viewed with equal importance. With this, I work collaboratively during sessions to ensure that your needs are tailored for and supported.
I facilitate a warm, safe and engaging space that allows you to explore aspects that you bring within a session.

The Gestalt Approach
The Gestalt approach views a person holistically, believing that all aspects of a being are equally important - From your coffee order to your thoughts and feelings. Due to its holistic nature, Gestalt is wonderfully adaptive to clients and often lends towards the creative.

This means that if you wish, we will be able to use many different innovative methods within our sessions. The therapeutic relationship is also significant with this approach, as it relies upon the dynamic being equal for authentic exploration.
This modality feels that we often perceive events with interpretation, Gestalt can support clients with engaging through presence and also works well for those who struggle to recognise or talk about their emotions, as the creative aspect can support them with this.

Thank you for viewing my profile, and I wish you well on your therapeutic journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with diverse agencies and charities, mainly within bereavement. I have gained experience in counselling those who have been bereaved by cancer and those with cancer diagnoses.
I also have working experience in counselling people with ADHD and Autism. This inspired me to become an autism ambassador, to facilitate change. I utilise this training and experience within sessions.
I currently volunteer at a charity that supports young people who have been bereaved in Hampshire, from the ages of 5 – 18.
I have familiarity and experience in working with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and am trained, experienced and able to counsel people from the ages of 11+.
Please see the list below to see other areas I work with, if you do not resonate with the list, please contact me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
