About me

I work remotely with any individual over the age of 18 anywhere in the UK.  I offer a safe and confidential space to explore whatever is causing you concern.   I believe the answers can be found within you – I can help you to look.

I work generically however have a special interest in:

*anxiety and worry

*addiction

*rape and sexual assault

*I am an LGBTQIA + affirmative therapist  (I do not engage with any form of conversion therapy and I oppose conversion practices)

I have worked for the past 15 years in the drug and alcohol field as both a therapist and a recovery co-ordinator .   I have 4 years experience working as a crisis worker in a sexual assault referral centre and 7 years as a mental health inclusion worker.

I am a person-centred therapist at my core with additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy.  I initially qualified in 2009.  I am trained to post graduate level and am a registered member of the BACP.  My approach is anti-oppressive and trauma informed and I can work with you in the shorter or longer term depending upon need.

I work online or via phone and can offer a short or longer-term commitment to you.  I can also offer one off sessions for clients with whom I have already worked and who may need to ‘touch base’ every now and then.

Working with the right person is a crucial component to successful therapy and I offer a free initial 20 minute phone call for us to mutually explore if we want to begin sessions together.

Everyone deserves to be listened to.......and heard.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
