About me

I offer a space where old ways of thinking and feeling can be examined, challenged and understood, perhaps old patterns of behaviour no longer serve you? Are relationships becoming destructive? Does your current lifestyle need consideration? Are your boundaries constantly being broken? You may have suffered a loss or a life changing event and need support and space to unpick and understand. I know it can feel scary. Counselling is a fluid and ever evolving process of internal learning, but always focused on what you bring to therapy.

The counselling process is very individual, we all have our own experiences and life view, which cultivates our internalised perspective on the world around us and our place within it. I offer a safe non judgemental and confidential space for us to explore what brings you to counselling. A space to become more self-aware and take back control. Whatever your therapeutic needs, and even if you don't yet know what change might look like, I can be with you on your journey.

I have had my own journey and experiences and it has led me here, counselling! I too have spent hours doing exactly the same thing, looking for someone to help me understand what happened, why I feel like this and how to make sense of it. I have had a mixture of helpful and unhelpful therapists, the only advice I can offer you now is to go with your gut, your instincts.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
