About me
Hello, my name is Kayla! I offer in person and online counselling.
We can easily fall into feelings of despair, anxiety and self sabotage when met with life difficulties on top of unresolved emotions or trauma. This can be overwhelming, but with the right tools and a safe place to process; patterns can be identified, repeating cycles can be intercepted and changed, improving your emotional wellbeing, relationships and quality of life for the better. If you are fed up, tired of being in a slump or just want to understand yourself better and see change, perhaps now is the time to start your therapeutic journey.
My areas of experience cover anxiety, overwhelm, anger, depression, trauma, abuse, dissociation, avoidance and suicidal ideation. I also have a special interest in parenting dynamics, parent/child issues and attachment disorders. I have experience working with a diverse spectrum of people across the UK.
An integrative approach to therapy acknowledges that everyone is unique, so it would be unrealistic to expect the exact same therapeutic approach to work for every person. By taking into account your personal frame of reference, your circumstances and the way you function and feel, I will collaborate with you and draw from the relevant approaches that best fit you.
Practising an integrative approach in counselling and psychotherapy involves combining and blending relevant theory and interventions. The modalities I draw from are person centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Meditations, creative therapy and movement may make an appearance in our sessions too.
Finding a therapist that you have a positive connection with can make all the difference in your journey of healing and growth. If you are feeling intense emotions, are grieving a loss, are anxious or overwhelmed with life, or anything else; please get in touch for a free online call!
