About me

Hello, I'm Kayla, an integrative therapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life's challenges. I offer compassionate and personalised therapy sessions both in person in Bristol and online across the UK.

My areas of expertise and interest include:

  • Emotional and mental well-being: Supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, overwhelm, and suicidal ideation.

If you're feeling stuck, lost, or hopeless; now is the time to reach out for professional support. Anxiety can feel hugely overwhelming, and can show up in so many different and difficult ways. Depression can feel like a black hole of despair that you just don't have the energy to climb out of. Therapy can be such a useful tool even at the darkest of times. Please get in touch for non-judgemental support, and a tailored therapeutic approach to reclaim your life from anxiety and depression.

  • Trauma and PTSD: I am currently specialising in psychological trauma, post traumatic stress syndrome treatment (PTSD) and Complex-PTSD treatment, mood stabilisation, and emotion regulation.

Have you experienced a traumatic event, or prolonged abuse that is still impacting your life today? Evidenced based trauma processing could help by reducing visual and emotional flashbacks, allowing you to stop being controlled by past experiences. The memory still sucks, but what might life be like if it was no longer dictated by your traumatic experiences? What if the negative impact of it could stop seeping out into all areas of your life? You deserve a breakthrough; trauma therapy could be just that.

  • Relationships and couples therapy: Addressing relationship difficulties and fostering healthier connections.

Are you struggling with miscommunication? Intimacy issues? Repairing broken trust? Couples therapy could be the helpful step in reviving your relationship, creating healthy communication skills, and better connection with your significant other. Using a non biased approach, my aim is to help you both better understand each other, have your emotional needs met, and become a team again.

I believe therapy should be as unique as you are. My integrative approach means I don't rely on a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I collaborate with you to understand your individual experiences, circumstances, and needs. Drawing from humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), as well as incorporating specific evidenced based trauma processes and emotion regulation skills when appropriate, I create a personalised therapeutic experience.

As we know, life's challenges can lead to feelings of despair, anxiety, and self-sabotage. But with the right support, you can:

  • Identify and break free from negative patterns.
  • Improve your emotional well-being.
  • Strengthen your relationships.
  • Enhance your overall quality of life.

Therapy is a powerful tool for self-discovery, empowerment, and positive transformation. If you're ready to take the first step towards a more fulfilling life, please get in touch for a free 15 minute consultation. Let's explore how we can work together towards the change you want.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
