Michelle Overton MBACP (Accredited) Counsellor / Clinical Supervisor
About me
We are living in unprecedented times and it could be that you are experiencing a whole range of emotions, from feeling stressed and anxious to world weary. What would be helpful? Online counselling provides an opportunity to explore personal difficulty in a safe contained, confidential and supportive environment. This may include expressing feelings that are painful, and which many of us experience at certain times in our lives. Counselling can help you to gain clarity into how you are feeling, support you to manage uncertainty and enable you to bring about changes in your life. Or let go of what cannot be changed.
I am an experienced and compassionate counsellor who strongly believes counselling works, when you are able to build a trusting relationship with your counsellor. It is important for you to feel heard and understood and that you can speak openly about your experiences without concern that you will be judged. We can find coping strategies that work for you.
Recommendations:"Michelle is an experienced practitioner. She is open and warm as well as boundaried, making you feel safe. She has lot of tools in her box to explore and help you understand yourself. She has listened to me and thought creatively with me to help me resolve problems in my life or at the very least feel really understood and cared about" - SC

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
