About me

Hello my name is Megan, I am a Counsellor working locally across Wrexham and Chester but also offer online and telephone counselling across the UK. I am also currently working at Wrexham University, as a Lecturer/Programme Leader in Counselling & Psychology.

Beginning counselling can be a daunting first step. You have made it this far, so to help you with your decision here is a little about the way my approach to counselling works. My approach as a counsellor is both Person-Centred and humanistic. What this means is we will work on an equal level, neither of being the expert in each others lives or experiences but hopefully with trust and understanding. We would work together to build up a relationship in which we would both feel open and honest enough with each other, to work through experiences together with respect and dignity.

A little about me. I qualified with my master's in Counselling in 2013 and have been working as a counsellor since. I have worked primarily in a women's centre but have also worked within an addiction and a bereavement service.

During the pandemic, I worked solely online and over the phone and have found this to be very helpful for some people. I have continued to work in this way as I have seen it to be a very useful way to work with individuals.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addiction, childhood sexual abuse, bereavement, child and infant loss. There are many reasons which can bring someone to counselling and I am happy to discuss individual needs and experiences with you, should you decide to get in touch. My particular area of work is within domestic violence, narcissistic relationship dynamics and childhood sexual abuse as this is an area in which I have worked and studied within my education and practice.

Thank you for taking the time to read this information and I wish you well in your search.
