About me

Hello and thank you for viewing my profile. It can be really difficult to reach out for support, so well done for taking this first step. I offer a non-judgemental and supportive space to assist you on your journey at a pace that feels right for you.

My Approach:
I am a BACP registered integrative Psychosynthesis counsellor/ psychotherapist, working in both individual and group settings. As an integrative therapist, I draw from a number of counselling approaches, including psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy,  that we can choose together to help reach your individual needs and/or goals (short or long-term).

I have over 10 years of experience of working within mental health and wellbeing, having worked in a range of settings including a multidisciplinary NHS adult mental health service and currently as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner for a young person’s (up to 25 years old) mental health charity. This role has provided me with opportunities to support young people, young adults, parents, carers and school staff from all backgrounds with different past experiences, cultures, ethnicity and diversity, in a range of ways and locations e.g. within schools and in the local community.

I believe in the human potential for growth, which (particularly through pain, trauma and crisis) can call us towards our version of greater, authentic wellbeing.

I believe that being in a genuine, curious and engaged relationship with you, can create a safe environment for you to process or work through what you need to.

I offer a calm and compassionate presence to your experience. My aim is not to provide you with answers, but to guide you towards finding your own truth.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries or to arrange a free 20 minute consultation.

Your first session:
As a first step, send me an email or give me a call to outline what you’re seeking from counselling. If I think the support I offer could be beneficial for you, we will agree a time to have an initial session online. This session is an opportunity for us to start to get to know each other in a little more depth. Following this initial session we will decide whether to continue working together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
