About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

My style and approach:
I am an Integrative Counsellor and Coach which means that I draw on a variety of therapeutic and coaching approaches to support the unique needs of my client – because one size doesn’t fit all. Our relationship is an essential component of our work, so each session is designed to be supportive, collaborative, non-judgemental and to flow at a pace that’s comfortable for you. I am known as the ‘energiser’ because I seek to encourage and creatively empower all my clients to connect with their whole selves (mind, body and spirit) and to come to a place of hope and freedom.

My integrative approach draws on counselling approaches such as Person Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Solution Focused and Existential therapy. My coaching expertise means in addition to the counselling, I am able to support clients to set clear goals and develop tools and techniques to move forward and grow. I see each session as an opportunity to explore – resolve – strengthen ones whole self.

I’ve come to realise, after many years of working in senior positions and high pressure environments, that it is easy to get lost in the ‘doing’ and completely miss out on ‘being’ present in the moment and truly enjoying life fully. This is why our sessions together will focus on supporting you to live fully and wholesomely.

My areas of specialism:
In addition to working across a broad range of challenges and difficulties such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress etc., I also specialise in the areas below.

  1. Relationship and couple therapy (couple counselling): I support couples who are dating, engage and married to rebuild intimacy and trust; develop their ability to communicate honestly and openly; to resolve conflict in a constructive way and create fun in their relationship.
  2. Friendship therapy: I support friends in a platonic relationship to rebuild trust, resolve past hurts and create healthy boundaries.
Pregnancy loss therapy: I support individuals and couples to work through the experience of pregnancy loss (miscarriage and abortion) and to come to a place of healing.
  3. Racial trauma: I support Black and minority ethnic clients navigate through racial trauma and experiences of discrimination at work and in their personal lives.
  4. Christian faith: I work with clients who are looking for a Christian therapist that understands the Christian faith and lived experience. I also partner with churches to train staff teams and provide consultation on care and Christian counselling for members.
  5. Career, leadership and executive coaching: I work with individuals and organisations across different sectors to support with leadership development, organisational culture, team performance and diversity & inclusion.

Corporate experience:
Before training as a counsellor and coach, I spent over 15 years working with world leading universities such as the London School of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London, University College London, King's College London, HEC Paris and NYU Stern. I held senior leadership positions heading and directing Career Services, Alumni Relations and Corporate Engagement. Throughout my professional journey my roles have been about supporting, coaching, encouraging and empowering people and teams.

In my personal time I have a passion for theatre and creative arts as well as travelling the world and encountering people from all cultures.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
