About me

Thank you for your interest in counselling/coaching/mentoring. I provide my clients with a safe, non-judgemental, supportive environment. counsellor working from a Gestalt perspective to support clients with a range of mental health presentations.

I offer both face to face therapy, from my practice in Peterborough and online therapy to support clients across the UK. It can be difficult taking the first steps to receiving help, but I am able to offer my support throughout your journey.

I believe that as individuals, we all have the inner ability for positive change and I can work with you to provide you with a set of life long skills in order to achieve your goal.

Last month alone, in the UK, looking only at key search terms, over 35,000 people searched for support with feelings of anxiety and depression. It’s very real, it’s still not talked about enough and there is help and support available.

We are all unique, and therefore I tailor my sessions to suit each individual person that I meet. Please share if you feel someone you know may be finding things too heavy to hold.

What to Expect

Counselling is a talking therapy in which we explore any problems you are facing and discover new ways in which to overcome your emotional struggles. My aim is to help you gain a better understanding of your thoughts and feelings, and work together to find a solution that works for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Sessions The first step in your counselling journey is to contact me and we can have a confidential discussion where I can answer any questions you may have. If you are happy to proceed, we will then arrange your first session.

A session will last for 50 minutes. Our first session will be an introductory session in which we will discuss what will happen through the duration of the therapy along with my role as the counsellor and what is expected of you as the client.

You will have the opportunity to discuss the emotional issues that are causing you problems and we will develop a plan of what will happen next.

I offer short term focused and long term therapeutic counselling. I can offer sessions during the week, some evenings and at Saturdays, though these slots may be limited. I will try to be flexible around the time you have available. I am currently offering sessions face to face or via phone or video call.

Subsequent sessions will be weekly or fortnightly depending on your needs.
