About me

I support you in developing a better relationship with yourself. My experience comprehends several issues encompassing anxiety, depression, family issues, psychosexual issues, social anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, boundaries, addictions, panic attacks, phobias, eating disorders, trauma and relationship concerns. I also support my clients in career choices, life purpose and spirituality.

I studied at Psychosynthesis Trust and I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (PGDip) which is validated by the Middlesex University and accredited by both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Recently I have finished a Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training at the Sensorimotor Institute with Pat Ogden. Sensorimotor is a type of talk therapy that focuses on bringing awareness to the body, unlocking its wisdom.

I am passionate about working with women, people from cross cultural backgrounds and minority groups in general.

I also have a qualification as a yoga teacher in India and I am very interested in working with body related issues.

In addition to my private practice I am a training assistant at the Psychosynthesis Trust, a renowned institution in London Bridge that trains counsellors and psychotherapists. I have volunteered at the Volunteer Hackney Centre visiting people suffering from isolation, as well as various physical and mental health issues, supporting them to meet their life goals and rebuild their independence, and at the Waterloo Community Counselling working with immigrants, focusing on cultural adjustment, abuse, self-esteem issues and anxiety. In 2021 I worked as a therapist for Solace Women Aid supporting women that went through domestic abuse.

Do you feel inauthentic?

Do you find yourself pleasing others and don't know the reason.

Do you allow other people to constantly cross your boundaries?

Is it difficult for you to be vulnerable and establish strong connections?

Are you feeling powerless in the relationships you have in your life?

Do you feel stuck? Overwhelmed? Frustrated?

Do you get caught up in loops of self criticism?

Do you struggle to self regulate?

I believe I can help you. I have 4000 hours working as a therapist and I support people just like you every day. And I love what I do.

There is a reason for why you are experiencing one or more of the above examples, and together we will unpack things and implement changes.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Getting Started:  Message me here using the BACP form or email me (marina.lorenzato@gmail.com) so we can arrange a free 10 minutes introductory call to see if we are a good fit before you commit to a session. I respond very quickly. After our call I will offer you a few slot options for our first session.

During our first session we will decide together if we are going to work in an open contract or with a pre established number of sessions.

Working in an open contract means we have time to visit your core wounds and understand your behavioural patterns.

If we decide to work with a pre stablished number of sessions we will identify together what area of your life you temporarily need clarity and support.
