About me

I believe, everyone can create the life they want to live, despite difficult childhood experiences, dysfunctional relationships, or diagnosis. As an Integrative Therapist, I use a comprehensive approach tailoring therapy to individual’s needs. I will help you achieve emotional, mental, and social balance, which will improve your quality of life. Having worked as a Cancer Care Nurse in the past, I transitioned to counselling and have been supporting adults in overcoming challenges and improving their mental and emotional well-being for many years.

Areas of Expertise:

I specialise in helping individuals with a range of concerns including anxiety, relationship issues, stress, low confidence and self-esteem, anger management, family issues, work-related challenges, childhood experiences, trauma/PTSD, abuse, grief and loss, depression, loneliness, parenthood challenges, adoption ramifications, addiction, co-dependence, key worker/emergency services burnout, bereavement, neurodiversity, cancer and couples therapy.

My Approach:

I strive to provide a safe, kind, and nonjudgmental environment where we can explore and work through the difficult areas of your life. Using active listening, empathy, and warmth, I build a therapeutic relationship with clients to help them gain insight, make necessary changes, and ultimately find their way back to themselves. I understand that each person's experience is unique, and I collaborate with clients to develop a personalised treatment plan.

Confidentiality and Data Protection:

Confidentiality is of utmost importance to me, and I adhere to the National Counselling Society Code of Ethical Practice. I handle client information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines, ensuring that any details that could identify a client are protected. The information I collect and store is either anonymised or securely stored behind lock and key and/or password-protected. I retain this information for the necessary duration required by my insurers and organisational policies before securely removing it.

Continued Growth and Professionalism:

I engage in regular supervision, attend peer support groups, and continually invest in my personal and professional development. This allows me to stay informed about the latest research and therapeutic approaches, ensuring that I provide the best support possible to my clients.

If you are looking for a compassionate and experienced therapist who can help you navigate life's challenges, I am here to support you. Together, we can work towards improving your mental and emotional well-being.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
