About me

I work as a person centred therapist, which means I try to step alongside you and understand what it is like to face the challenges that you are going through. Working together we can look at the blocks that are getting in the way of you living the life you want to lead and creating a feeling of being stuck. Putting into place boundaries that will help you find your 'No' and just as importantly your 'Yes'.

Exploring the ways in which you might disconnect from your body and discovering what stories and beliefs about yourself that you have picked up from others (parents, teachers, friends, lovers etc..,) and learning to let these go so you are able to align with who you really are, and are able to find your voice, ask for what you need and want and allow yourself to receive it. We can look at the patterns in your life that result in behaviours that sabotage your ability to lead the life you want and work out what is needed to change them.

I provide a safe space for you to 'say the unsayable' and allow all the different parts of you to be heard without fear or judgement. It can be a relief to have someone willing and able to go to the places you find hard to be and act as a clear mirror and offer a different perspective.

I also work with the challenges women go through leading up to and including the menopause, finding an empowered way through it and the changes it brings. My training with 'Boarding School Survivors' enables me to work with the many issues that can arise from being sent away to school. My work with couples is based around looking at the destructive patterns in the relationship that is causing disharmony and pain and learning how to break these patterns and finding a new way to communicate and listen to each other. I am a qualified Psychosexual psychotherapist dealing with issues that are affecting your sexual performance/identity/or the relationship you have with your sexuality. Please look at my website for more information on how I work.

Having trained in Somatic Bodywork I am always curious to hear what the body has to say. It is easy to get 'stuck in our heads' and out of connection with the wisdom of our bodies. An integrated relationship between the body and mind can help to unlock and release past traumas and is especially helpful when working with issues around sexuality and shame.

I work from a beautiful converted Watermill just outside Southwold, it offers a tranquil space surrounded by nature and affords complete privacy and quiet. There is plenty of parking available. My London space is just off Camden high street and also affords privacy. There is a lift so it is possible to access with a wheelchair.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
