About me

When you know you can’t go on as you are, something needs to change.

You might be feeling stuck in a relationship or a job which just isn’t working anymore. Or maybe you’re faced with a big life transition and feel lost and uncertain about your future. Perhaps there are things that have happened in your past which are holding you back.

All these issues show up as anxiety, depression, relationship problems and low self esteem. They may also cause us to develop unhealthy patterns of behaviour such as addiction.

Therapy can help get you to see things more clearly, understand how you’ve got here and support you in finding strategies to cope and work out a way forward.

By raising your self-awareness I will help you explore the issues that you're struggling with and find the root causes of the symptoms you're experiencing. I will support you in developing ways to help you manage better. Ultimately I hope to enable you to accept the person you are and find a more peaceful way of being.

A client's recently commented:

'I cannot recommend Liz highly enough. I feel completely at ease during my sessions and was completely comfortable from the start. I can say that from working on myself with Liz I am starting to see the benefits as are those around me. After only a few weeks of sessions I completely trust her and look forward to speaking with her each week. It's changing my life for the better. '

For me, counselling is a vocation not a job and I am passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. I hope I can make a difference in yours.

Training, qualifications & experience

My name is Liz and I am an experienced counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have a postgraduate diploma in therapeutic counselling and I work integratively which means that I draw on a variety of approaches in my counselling practice. I work with clients who have problems with relationships, identity, loss, self-esteem, addiction and abuse.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
