About me

"I see service through two words: connection and empathy. what you remember after any experience is how someone made you feel"

Hi im Lisa,

I am a self employed counsellor working for Betterhelp  (worlds no 1 online therapy platform) and I also work on a private basis.  I am fortunate to be able to offer my clients a quiet, private secure place  (from my home office)  that over look the surrounding fields in Aylesby village Lincolnshire.

I am fully insured, and I am a registered member of the BACP which means I adhere to their professional and ethical framework at all times within my practice with clients.

I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor with a decade of study in the field, I work with a wide range of issues but have gained most experience in working with family issues, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, workplace stress and self-esteem issues.

More recently I trained as sleep practitioner and studied Cognitive Behavioural therapy for Insomnia (CBTI) this is a highly effective modality used to help support clients with insomnia and sleep difficulties. This type of programme is more structured than person centred counselling sessions, but I do offer an initial consultation so please contact me directly for more information.

My counselling sessions with you are completely bespoke, meaning that I may use a range of modalities suited to your needs, however my primary ethos of practice is always person centred. Furthermore I believe that becoming comfortable with your counsellor, developing trust and building on that is an essential part of the relationship. I can support you in helping you find your own resolution to what is troubling you and where required provide you with therapeutic strategies that will help you in achieving short and long term goals.

What can I offer you?

I can offer you a safe confidential environment that allows you to fully express your thoughts, feelings and emotions in way that you don't feel judged. I am empathic and approachable, but not too serious in my working that makes you feel uncomfortable. I myself have been in the clients seat and fully empathise with how daunting it is to feel vulnerability and be able to put trust someone we don't know.  I fully support the Ethos of being myself in a warm but professional manner, in the hope that it encourages you to also be your true self.

I can work with you in both short and long term time frames, depending on your needs and where you are on your journey. Sometimes we are unable to see what is troubling us or holding us back, but I will support you fully in your unique process and encourage and assist you in making any necessary changes you require.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
