About me
Feelings of Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Loss , Low Self-esteem and other issues can affect us all at any time in our lives. Having the opportunity to talk and to be heard in a calm, confidential and safe space with a non-judgemental counsellor may be exactly what you need.
At Findingyou counselling services I provide space and time for you to talk about the things that are important to you in a supportive environment where you can be yourself. I work alongside you helping you to make choices and decisions to bring about the changes that you desire, whatever they may be. Our relationship is KEY and will be built on honesty, empathy, trust and unconditional positive regard. This will allow you to explore your feelings and help you to take steps in moving forward. Your mental health matters and at FindingYou you are given the time, space and security to let you explore what is important to you.
In the initial session, we will meet and discuss what you would like to focus on and determine how we feel we could best work together. Although weekly sessions at a regular time are ideal and often the most beneficial, we are able to monitor this and adjust as we go. It is up to you to decide how many sessions you would like and this can also be discussed in the first session and adjusted later on if needed.
Sessions last for 55 minutes with 5 mins for review and admin. Evening appointments are available and I try to be as flexible as possible to ensure I meet your needs. Similarly, I am able to offer both short term and long term work.
I also offer remote counselling sessions (telephone and online) if you feel this may be better suited to you.

Training, qualifications & experience
- MBACP- Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists
- Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Skills
- Experience of working with trauma and anxiety
- Dealing with bereavement, grief and loss
- Working with a diverse age range of clients and from diverse backgrounds.
Apart from my private practice work I also work at a Wellwomens Centre.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
