About me

Face-to-face, online and telephone counselling available with an Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist

If you often feel anxious, overwhelmed or find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, you’re not alone.

You might be dealing with anxiety that won’t switch off, low mood that’s hard to explain, or feeling like you’ve lost confidence in yourself. Sometimes, it’s not even clear what’s wrong just that something doesn’t feel right.

I offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly and begin to make sense of what’s going on, at your own pace.

 How I can help

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and bereavement. I also have a particular focus on relationship difficulties whether that’s with partners, family, or even the relationship you have with yourself with a focus on attachment and the role this can play in how we connect with others.

I’m trained in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), which looks at how patterns in past and present relationships can shape how you feel today. Together, we can begin to understand these patterns and gently explore new ways of relating, so you don’t feel stuck repeating the same cycles.

This approach can be especially helpful if you:

Find yourself in similar relationship situations again and again
Struggle to express your needs or set boundaries
Feel easily hurt, rejected, or misunderstood
Want to better understand your emotional responses

What it’s like to work with me

I understand that opening up can feel difficult my approach is warm, down-to-earth and collaborative. I focus on building a genuine, trusting relationship where you can feel comfortable being yourself without pressure or judgement.

I also work in a trauma-informed way, which means we go at a pace that feels safe for you.

I’m mindful of cultural identity and how your background and lived experiences may shape how you see the world and yourself.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
