About me

How can I help you?

Sometimes life can throw unexpected challenges at us and we can find that things that wouldn't normally bother us do. You may find that you have become stuck and unable to move forward to make the change you so badly desire. Perhaps you have noticed your mood has dropped and you’re feeling depressed. It could be that you find yourself struggling with anxiety or are feeling overwhelmed or stressed leaving you constantly worrying and struggling to sleep. Perhaps you are having problems at work or in your relationships, or maybe you have suffered historically at the hands of others (either verbally or physically), which is impacting on your emotions and behaviours now.
It's at times like these when we need to remember that it is ok not to be ok and talking to somebody can help. Counselling can help you develop the self-awareness and give you the tools that you need in order to repair and move forward. As a client it is important that you know I won’t judge you and I will allow you the space to open up and talk freely in a way which might not be possible with friends or family. I will work with you to help you understand and make sense of your experiences which will enable you to create positive changes so that your life feels more manageable instead of overwhelming.

About Me

I am an integrative/ pluralistic counsellor, which means that I have studied a variety of different theoretical modalities which I can draw upon and adapt to meet your individual need.  I have worked in Private Practice for several years as well as working within the education and not-for-profit sectors which has given me a broad client base and experience to draw upon. In addition to this, I also work with different organisations and corporate clients in a counselling capacity to enable them to identify what is preventing them from moving forward and keeping them stuck.

I know reaching out may seem scary, but, if you are experiencing difficulties and have been thinking of trying counselling, it can help to talk to someone without fear of judgement and begin your journey to becoming a healthier, happier you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
