About me

I would like to offer you a warm and welcoming space to talk about anything that is troubling you. I have experience of working with grief and loss, bereavement, gender identity, sexual orientation, anxiety, depression, and more. I would like to work collaborativey with you face to face or online. I am committed to being empathic and nonjudgmental.

Sometimes things just don’t feel right. You might know what’s causing these feelings, but moving forward seems like an impossibility and you are stuck. It might be that you can’t identify the cause of these feelings, but something is having a major impact on you, and you have reached a stage where you need to make a change.  I can provide a confidential, safe space for you to talk and find the tools you need to support you and carry with you through life.

I am open to listening to anything that you would to discuss. I have experience of working with grief, loss and bereavement, including pregancy loss; anxiety and depression, stress and burnout. I am LGBTQI+ friendy and work with a growing number of clients who are struggling with their gender identity and sexuality.

As well as being a qualified counsellor I have worked for over 30 years in the NHS. I recognise and understand that a career on the front line, working under pressure and caring for others who unwell can sometimes lead to burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. I would like to support you if this is your experience and you need help.

My main hope is that we can work together and find a way for you to grow and move forward, feeling supported in a warm, friendly, non-judgemental, confidential space - time for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
