About me

In-person therapy sessions are currently available in central London on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and remote therapy sessions via Zoom or phone.

Arrange a free 10-20 minute introductory call to start the conversation.

As a qualified psychodynamic therapist, I am able to offer you an open and confidential space to explore whatever might be on your mind. An opportunity to find hope,  make sense of difficult experiences, painful thoughts and feelings, and transform the way you might understand yourself, others and our world.

My approach is informed by psychoanalytic theory and practice, which means we can think about:

  • How past experiences have an impact on your present.
  • Relationship dynamics – how you interact with and see yourself, others and the world around you.
  • Unconscious processes – from your dreams at day time and night, to all thoughts, feelings and experiences, giving greater insight into your mind and choice in your life.

Visit my website www.leversha.com or email me, info@leversha.com, to book a free 10-20 minute introductory call to start the conversation.

Psychotherapy or Counselling

Psychotherapy is an opportunity to explore in great depth, and over a longer period of time together. We work in an open-ended way, meaning we come to a joint decision about when it would be best to end, as part of your therapy.

With counselling, we can focus on a particular concern and decide together how many sessions would be most suitable to explore this.

With both psychotherapy and counselling, we would jointly agree on what would be the best focus for our work together. This might change over time.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are at a dedicated time each week, which is held only for you.

In-person or remote therapy

In-person sessions take place in central London, in a private therapy room in Farringdon and The City, or in Wimpole Street, Marylebone. Both are in buildings dedicated to talking therapies. This offers you a confidential space to come to each week.

Remote therapy can take place online with video sessions using Zoom, or over the phone. Remote therapy offers convenience and greater access to therapy. You must ensure you have a secure and private space.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a qualified psychodynamic therapist, holding a Master’s in Psychodynamic Practice from the University of Oxford, a rigorous four-year training programme. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have worked for a number of years as a psychotherapist in the NHS, and for charities in London, with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. I aim to offer an inclusive and safe space for all, and have worked with a range of different issues, including anxiety and depression, trauma and abuse, bereavement and loss, suicidal thoughts and feelings, alcohol and drug use, self-esteem and confidence, relationship issues and important life transitions.

I worked in the Arts before undertaking clinical training. I’m passionate about creativity, and exploring how the arts and psychodynamic therapy might inform one another.

I am also a member of the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
