About me

About me and my therapy practice

Currently, I am offering mainly online sessions.

Hello and welcome! I’m Kat, and I’m here to guide you on your journey toward healing and growth.

At the heart of my approach is a deep belief in the power of connection. I see the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative partnership where you are the expert on your life, and together we can uncover meaningful insights. In our sessions, you will find a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges, reflect on their deeper meanings, and discover new ways to move forward. The path to lasting change is built on trust, respect, and understanding - values I hold central in our work together.

I offer both long-term and short-term psychological therapy in English and Polish. With my doctoral-level training and broad experience in NHS settings and charitable sector, I bring a deep understanding of multiple therapeutic modalities. I am skilled in psychodynamic, CognitiveBehavioural, Systemic, Trauma therapy, third-wave CBT, EMDR and many other approaches.

I believe that the felt experience of tension and suffering can be as much the source point of novelty, possibility, and creativity. In my practice, I focus on helping you embrace these experiences as opportunities for growth, self-acceptance, and hope. Together, we will explore what matters most to you and collaborate to shape the direction of therapy.

Practical information

The first one or two sessions are an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore whether I am the right therapist to support you. There’s no pressure or obligation to continue therapy at this stage. However, if you feel comfortable moving forward, we can then arrange a regular time slot that works for you. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and we will meet on a weekly basis.

I offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation where you can share a bit about what you're going through and what you're hoping to achieve in therapy. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions about my approach and see if you feel comfortable moving forward with me as your therapist.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • The Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, The University of the West of England, UK- final year
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills WPF Therapy, London, UK
  • Master's Degree, Faculty of Psychology, University of Wroclaw, Poland

As part of my training, I balance both the role of practitioner and scientist, ensuring that I continue to grow both personally and professionally. My approach combines a solid theoretical foundation with hands-on research and clinical experience, allowing me to see each individual in a holistic way and tailor my work to meet your unique needs. This also enables me to take a broader view of different therapeutic methods while working in a way that is aligned with evidence-based practices. I am committed to maintaining the highest standards and adhere to the ethical guidelines set out by the HCPC, BACP, and BPS.

With several years of experience in mental health settings, including the NHS, third-sector organisations (The Southmead Project in Bristol), and private practice in both Poland and the UK, I bring a rich and diverse understanding to our work together.

If at any point I feel that the challenges you're facing might be beyond my expertise, I will always make it a priority to help you find the appropriate support. Should we decide to work together, I’ll offer you a regular therapy slot and provide you with a therapeutic contract to ensure clarity and mutual understanding throughout our work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
