About me

Raising awareness, developing personal growth, and release from suffering are core to my therapeutic approach. In doing so, I provide an empathic, non-judgmental, confidential space for clients where they can share their thoughts and feelings. The safe environment which I create gives an opportunity to my clients to explore difficult areas and painful experiences. I am also focused on linking the past and present, in order to increase the client’s awareness of how their childhood experiences contributed to shaping their adulthood, and how it manifests itself in the present moment.

I work within an integrative framework, based on the relational paradigm. The foundation of my integrative framework evolves from a psychodynamic base, with Attachment Theory as the core element of therapy. I consider that in therapy, clients have the opportunity to further understand themselves and in doing so, refines healthier ways of being themselves, and improving relationships and how they relate to others in general. I have a particular interest in developmental trauma and its further consequences in adulthood. I am especially interested in the work of Bessel van der Kolk, Babette Rothschild, Janina Fisher, Peter Levine, to name a few.

I strongly consider that the difficulties, which are present at the beginning of the process of therapy, are those which can guide clients towards a deeper understanding of themselves. I believe that the process of therapy allows clients to regain contact with who they are, with self, and helps clients live their life more authentically in accordance with their feelings, beliefs, and values.

Training, qualifications & experience

I gained experience as a Counsellor in a few placements such as Mind, The Awareness Centre, Enable, and Keysteps Wellbeing service.
Also, apart from counselling experience, I have been working in workplaces such as recovery services, where I worked with both young people and adults with substance misuse issues. I assisted clients from the point of entry, towards abstinence, and I encouraged them to live a more fulfilled life.
I also have experience working in an environment focused on supporting survivors of domestic violence, especially supporting clients around risk management and safety planning, using a trauma-informed approach.

I moved to the United Kingdom from Poland, which gave me a good understanding of the experience of immigration.

I have been working with diverse groups of clients, which enhances my experience of life.

I gained Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, I am currently working towards a Master’s degree in Integrative Psychotherapy.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP), an Accredited Member of the UKCP, and I'm also registered with ICO (Information Commissioner's Office).

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
