About me

Hello,

I understand how difficult it can be to first make contact and enquire about counselling. I would really like to help you. I offer a gentle and compassionate therapy space for you to explore the reasons that have brought you to counselling now. You may have an idea of what you would like help with or you might just feel like something feels ‘off’, you may feel you would like a place to talk about something that you are struggling with. You may be feeling stuck, or off balance, you may have lost a sense of who you are.

I can help you discover the unhelpful patterns that perhaps are showing up in your life, to bring more connection to your relationship with yourself or with others or to help you improve the quality of your life by discovering inner resources that you may not have noticed before.

Training, qualifications & experience

After gaining my DipHE qualification in Humanistic Gestalt Counselling in 2018 I have worked for various counselling organisations and charities and also the NHS as a children and young persons counsellor. During this time I have worked extensively with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, miscarriage and baby loss, fertility issues, relationship issues, bereavement and grief, and identity issues. I also have a special interest in neurodivergence.

I am committed to my professional development and ethical responsibilities. I regularly complete additional training.

In accordance with my Professional Body’s requirements, my work is professionally supervised and insured.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Opening up to someone about your feelings and worries is not easy so it is important that you feel comfortable and respected.

You can email or call me to enquire or book a discovery call.

We can work online, meaning you can be anywhere in the UK, accessing counselling or, I also can offer a few face to face appointments in Oban.
