About me

Sometimes we can feel broken, like we are on a treadmill that never stops, pushing harder but never getting anywhere, no change of direction, always feeling tired, and everything being the same. Perhaps you feel like you are just existing rather than living the life you would like to live - feeling unhappy, stressed, sad, lonely, depressed, angry or anxious. It may be that you are unsure how you are feeling but you know that something does not feel quite right.

Is your relationship with someone else or all relationships feeling strained? Would you like to understand what is happening, to change or improve your relationships with others? What about your relationship with yourself – are you self critical? Do you engage in negative self talk? Maybe you blame yourself for everything. Perhaps you ignore your physical and mental health. Understanding yourself better can improve your relationships with others.

It could be that you would simply appreciate a space where you will feel listened to and can use the time to talk unapologetically about your feelings and problems without judgement, advice or criticism. Talking with friends and family can help, be of great support and be someone to off load to. However, that can often come with advice, opinion or judgement which can leave you feeling unheard and alone.

Talking about your concerns, hopes, fears and emotions with me can help you to feel less overwhelmed; enable you to explore and understand yourself better; help you to navigate difficult relationships; find ways of coping when you feel anxious or have strong emotions or to explore past events and how they impact you today - all of which can help you to build resilience, promote choices, and bring about any changes that you wish to make.

Whatever issues you bring I am here to listen to you. We will work together to explore what is going on for you.

Deciding to go to counselling can feel overwhelming as can trying to find the right counsellor for you. I offer an initial 15 minute introductory phone call where we can discuss your needs, I can answer any questions that you may have and we can discuss the next steps. Please contact me by email, phone or via my website - see details above. I aim to respond to you as soon as possible.

I look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to my counselling room on the outskirts of Andover where there is free onsite parking.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
